The First Business Buzz is a Success
Last night we co-hosted the first Business Buzz “notworking” event at Cork Wine and Tapas in downtown New Bedford. The Buzz was born out of a great brainstorming session with our friends at Civic Support, where we recognized the need for a fun, relaxed, and irreverent event catering to professionals in New Bedford and beyond. Here’s the official description of the Buzz:
Business Buzz is New Bedford’s premier notworking event. What is notworking you ask? We’ll tell you what it isn’t: people pushing agendas, boring conversations, and stuffy old-school business types.
Business Buzz is a monthly social event happening at local bars around New Bedford. Join us for a drink. Listen to some tunes. Unwind from the work day. Meet people you actually want to know. Talk about things that matter.
Last night’s kick-off event was about as fantastic as we hoped. Turns out people are pretty excited to do some “notworking” at the end of a long week. I heard some great conversations and lots of laughing, and I saw plenty of smiles all around. The Buzz is really about having fun, because when you care about your work and the people you work with, work itself is inherently fun.
