“I coulda been a contender!”
FRIDAY, JAN. 19 – Classic film screenings are – sadly – rare in New Bedford. So don’t miss the chance to catch one at New Bedford Whaling National Park (33 William Street) tonight at 7:00 p.m. Marlon Brando stars in Elia Kazan’s “On The Waterfront” in an Oscar-winning role. The film has been dubbed a “masterpiece of urban poetry” – and we certainly agree with that assessment. Shown as part of the DockUMentaries free film series with the New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center.

A full line-up of participating supporters, groups and organizations can be found on the Facebook event page here, where organizers write: In all areas, ATMA (Action Together Massachusetts) and all March affiliates stand for equal rights, religious tolerance, freedom of the press, science, inclusivity, social justice, economic freedom, and fundamental human decency.”
