What’s your profession?
I own Light As A Feather Life Coaching, work at a nursery garden antique center, and am a travel surgical technologist.
Describe a typical work day for you.
Well, it depends on the job I have by employment or my own business job. A typical day for my Full Time job currently is opening the nursery, playing classical music, water over 1,000 plants, helping clients pick their treasures for their planting creations, and plant care for the sick ones. It is a long, labor intensive day. I also have intimate conversations and make connections with people through words, listening to stories, and offer kind words of support.
For my business it consists of scheduling kayak rentals, creating meditations, cooking a special healthy treat for my clients, checking the tides and coordinating information. Along with marketing and posting on social media for events. A meditation for myself to calm the fears and anxious feelings, load and unload all of the kayaks and bake a bread for the man I rent them from.
What’s the biggest challenge you face at your job?
Feeling fear and doing it anyway. MARKETING AND TECH! Time management, imposter syndrome tendencies.
Do you have a morning routine?
Yes I do and it consists of a 7 minute workout for inner peace using breath work and energy healing. A brief meditation and a ten minute tidy of my home, which begins with making my bed. I also take my vitamins with a turmeric and black pepper elixir.
What are your favorite productivity tips or hacks?
MEDITATION, moving the energy around in your body, somatic breathing, music, walks out in nature especially the beach! The ionization in the air at the beach is science backed to elevate your mood and change your brain waves. Practicing mindfulness eating, quieting. Daily journaling and intention setting for your day.
Grounding exercises:
- 5 things you see
- 4 things you hear
- 3 things you can feel
What do you listen to during the day?
Classical, Van Morrison radio on Pandora, Andrea Bourcelli, shuffle all my playlists on Pandora, so a little of everything EXCEPT hard rock and rap (Music soothes my soul and I absolutely love it. I feel it changes the mood and atmosphere around you).
How do you benefit (or as a new member what do you hope to benefit) from using a coworking space?
I am thrilled to be a new member, make connections and network with other creative entrepreneurs. I want to learn and share all I have learned and I could not be happier about this facility and its members. THANK YOU!!!
What’s in your digital toolbox? (Favorite apps, hardware, software, etc.)
Phew, the digital world does not come easy to me but I do have a few favorite apps and mentors. Audible for yoga/meditations, Skool with Aaron Douty and Victor Oddo on expanding consciousness, and my timer!! The Youtube university as well as the Dr. Sue Morter Institute at Morter Institute of BioEnergetics.
What inspires you?
Seeing people light up when I spot and complement their unique gifts inspires me. You can make someone’s day a little better with a kind, authentic gesture.
What are some of your goals for the future?
My goal for the future is to work F/T running my business healing and supporting women through nature, meditations, and outdoor activities combined with life coaching.
