Safe Fall Activities on the South Coast
As fall approaches, we are shifting from our summer routines into a very new type of school year, the continuation of working from home, and cooler weather. Fortunately you can still find plenty of safe, fall activities on the South Coast.
So zip up your fleece and get ready for one of New England’s best seasons. And here are a three things you’ll want to add to your Fall 2020 outings bucket list:
Southcoast Open Air Market (SOAM)
Have you been to a SOAM event yet? If not, you must! With a variety of vendor offerings including handmade goods, amazing salsa, and even Alpacas (yes, really!) you will be so glad you went. They have adjusted the format a bit, to abide by COVID regulations, and yet you’ll still find it easy to walk, shop, and eat your way through the market.
Nearly all vendor booths have hand sanitizer, and you’ll also find hand washing stations around the market. Customers are welcome to bring reusable bags but vendors cannot handle them. And masks must be won when social distancing of 6 feet or more is not possible.
SOAM is held every Saturday from 10 am-2 pm at the Swansea YMCA, 271 Sharps Lot Road, Swansea, MA. But be sure to give them a follow on Facebook for weekly updates, vendor lists, and more.
Pumpkin Hayrides and Food Trucks at Westport Rivers Vineyard & Winery
The beautiful view over the property is enough reason to stop by. But then there’s the wine and food truck offerings too, and well, there’s just no reason not to go. With plenty of outdoor space to socially distance, and a view that will have you lingering while chatting over delightful food and beverage, you’ll be pleased you stopped by.
Pumpkin picking and hayride plans are on hold until next year. But food trucks will be on site every day, along with offerings of beer and wine by the glass at their socially distanced tables and chairs. You can stop by Monday-Saturday from 11am-5pm. Zeiterion Theatre’s Drive-In Movie Series
Early in the summer, you may have had the pleasure of seeing this in action. The Z launched a drive-in series, right in the Seastreak parking lot. It was a big hit and we are so glad it’s back for the fall! The fall lineup includes performances by Rebecca Correia & Friends, and the Adam Ezra Group, screenings of Hotel Transylvania, and The Addams Family, and more!
With plenty of space for parking, and rules in place to keep everyone as safe as possible, the Z has definitely put in the work to make sure you can enjoy a night out.
