DESCRIPTION:The Groundwork Gallery is happy to host the 3rd Annual Anchor Academy Art Exhibit! This event highlights beautiful works that were created during Anchor Academy’s Art Class throughout the year. \nJoin us for the opening reception on Thursday\, April 11th\, from 4pm to 7pm at Groundwork Gallery\, at 1213 Purchase Street in New Bedford\, MA. Our doors are open to the public Monday through Friday\, 9am-2pm. \n*Use the entrance on Maxfield Street* \nThis year’s edition focuses on students’ answers to the question\, Now What? All school year long each assignment while containing technical skill building components also existed within a theme. Asking the big questions that artists grapple with is a key driver to revealing the meaning behind student artwork. Specifically\, a student may be asked to render a realistic drawing of a still-life but furthermore they are challenged to keep in the fore how to answer the question\, Now What? This practice has led to the type of maker experience that values expression\, beauty\, and truth equally.
