Startup Weekends are weekend-long\, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if startup ideas are viable. On average\, half of Startup Weekend’s attendees have technical or design backgrounds\, the other half have business backgrounds. \nBeginning with open mic pitches on Friday\, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their team. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special presentation by the Executive Director of Entrepreneurship for All\, David Parker. Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll) is setting up its program in the South Coast region with the goal of helping local entrepreneurs of all kinds increase their chances of success with their ideas for businesses and/or non-profits. There are no restrictions on who can participate\, but the program will work hard to find entrepreneurs from disadvantaged residents within the cities of New Bedford and Fall River. \nEforAll is looking to create a community of support for these entrepreneurs\, with the goal to assemble a pool of mentors. Qualified mentors come from all fields (business\, non-profits\, education\, and government) and have achieved success in their careers. They have the ability to relate to the widely varied challenges that entrepreneurs face.  Former or current entrepreneurs are the best\, but bankers\, real estate people\, non profit heads all make for wonderful mentors. \nDavid will give a short presentation on the EforAll program followed by a Q+A. session. Light refreshments will be served.
