SUMMARY:Art Reception for Elemental: universal energy flow of life
DESCRIPTION:ELEMENTAL: Universal energy flow of life \nConcept and Curation: Tammi J. Meehan \nCommunication through frequency and vibration is the inspiration for ELEMENTAL. Quantum Physics and the influence of music\, energy\, vibration and frequencies on the natural world and beyond is the groundwork for the exhibition. Cell communication has its own musical intonations. These emulations of flow\, similar to a song\, a pause between notes\, can help heal or uplift the energetic resonance of a being and speaks to the silence within. \nThought is tangible and in fact negative thoughts have more energetic weight to them than positive ones. The reason we tend toward more negative than positive thoughts is because it’s simply easier. The birth of the universe\, consciousness itself\, originated from sound\, vibration\, frequency. What holds all material form together is constantly vibrating\, an energetic current. Artists invited to this show illuminate their unique observations of energetic impulses from the natural world including what is beyond the visible; imagination itself. Ideas pulse\, prod and push beyond the confines of the material world. \nThe artists depict flow\, cycles\, change\, sound and energetic frequencies. Drawing from material elements; wood\, air\, fire\, water\, the show expands to include portrayals of thoughts\, energetic frequencies and light itself. From the human vascular system\, Mycelial biomass\, or the influence of frequency on form\, the lens expands from micro to macro including cosmic elements and the unseen. The intention of the exhibition is to elucidate the most common\, fundamental element of all. In coaxing the viewer to expand the portals of their imagination the artists’ work collectively illicit a sense of discovery while honoring creativity and a reverence for the universal life force\, Prana or Ch’i. \nThis exhibition posits the existence of an additional element outside the realm of what is visible. In channeling this life force energy\, the artists dance it into the density of form. This primordial drive to create is the thread that binds us all together. In flow\, we align and co-create. \nList of Artists: \n\nMichael Hecht\nKirstin Ilse\nAmy Lund\nChristine Maiato FitzGerald\nTammi J. Meehan\nAmanda J. Moore\nChris Page\n\nExhibition dates are September 1st- October 17th. We welcome  the public to visit and enjoy this exhibition during our staffed hours Monday-Friday from 9:00am-2:00pm\, or by appointment. All works sold in our commission free gallery go directly into the pockets of the artists. \nThis event is supported in part by the Wicked Cool Places grant funded by the City of New Bedford\, through American Rescue Plan awards\, and its Arts\, Culture and Tourism Fund\, and is facilitated by New Bedford Creative at the NBEDC.
