SUMMARY:Art Reception: Selected Works by Jenn Houle
DESCRIPTION:Deer Flash\, Acrylic on canvas\, 40″x46″ 2016 \nJenn Houle’s love of nature stems from her childhood in New Hampshire where she spent summers camping and hiking\, and winters skiing. In 2007\, she received her BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and in 2015 graduated from Cornell University’s MFA program. Her work has been exhibited at Site/109\, Chazan Gallery\, Gallery 263\, Montserrat College of Art\, Mass Audubon Habitat and Boston University’s 808 Gallery Space. She has an upcoming shows at UMASS Amherst\, will return as an artist in residence at the Smoky Mountain National Park in June 2017 followed by a residency at the Plumbing Museum in Watertown. She is the recipient of grants from Massachusetts Cultural Council\, Cornell Council for the Arts\, the Einaudi Foundation\, and the John Hartell Graduate Award for Art and Architecture. She has a cat daughter\, Maxine\, whom she faithfully serves and adores.
